my girlfriend and i are heading to philippines for a month in October/November and are busy investigating a potential route.

we have previously travelled around thailand, laos and malaysia and had more or less a set itinerary with most accommodation booked before we left.

we are thinking for this trip to have a route more or less planned out but not book much accommodation and just see how we go, changing our plans if need be. are there any issues with doing this in philippines at that time of year?

we are flying in / out of manilla, once we arrive we didn't want to fly too much but rather try catch ferries to get us around, we thought of making our way down to cebu from manilla stopping at various islands on the way and then heading to boracay and onto plawan before heading back to manilla.

we have read about various places we want to go (puerto princesa, donsol, bohol etc etc) and would also like to get our scuba diving qualification whilst we are there so would appreciate some suggestions on where the best place to do that might be as well as any suggestions on places we must see and any help on the route from manilla down to cebu would be appreciated!
